Bryan Sperry has not suited up for a football game for years, but the former star from 1946-48 took center field and was quite possibly an inspiration to generations during the recent alumni game, according to the local paper, The Lawrence Journal-World.

Sperry was spry as he sprinted to the end zone and thanks to a few blocks from his teammates, and a few thrown tackles from the opposition, he made it in for the score.
