Special season for Bulldogs? Here’s what stands in their way
Georgia improved to 5-0 with a dominating 41-0 win over Tennessee in Knoxville Saturday.
Here's what stands in the way of a special season for the Bulldogs:
1. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Vanderbilt, noon: The Commodores are 3-2 after a 38-24 loss to Florida Saturday. That came a week after they lost to Alabama 59-0.
2. Oct. 14 vs. Missouri in Athens: The Tigers are 1-3 despite starting the season with four consecutive home games and did not play Saturday. They needed a week off after giving up 51 points in a loss to Auburn.

3. Oct. 28 vs. Florida in Jacksonville, 3:30 p.m. The Gators are 3-1. They lost their starting QB but still defeated Vanderbilt 38-24 Saturday. Redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks stepped in and completed 10 of 14 passes for 185 yards. Florida is 16-3 in SEC regular-season games under coach Jim McElwain.
4. Nov. 4 vs. South Carolina: The Gamecocks are 3-2. They gave up seven sacks and lost to Texas A&M 24-17 Saturday night.
5. Nov. 11 at Auburn: The Tigers are 4-1 after crushing Mississippi State 49-10. That 39-point win is better than Georgia's 28-point win over State.
6. Nov. 18 vs. Kentucky: The Wildcats are 4-1 after edging Eastern Michigan 24-20 Saturday.
7. Nov. 25 at Georgia Tech: The state rival is 3-1 after defeating North Carolina 33-7 Saturday. The Jackets lost to Tennessee 42-41 to start the season. Georgia beat the Vols 41-0 Saturday.
8. If the Bulldogs win the East, the SEC Championship Game is Dec. 2 in Atlanta at 4 p.m.
