A recap of the weekend in state college baseball:

Georgia Tech

Season record: 11-4, 2-1 ACC

Sunday's game: Brandon Gold (Johns Creek) retired his final 13 batters and allowed only five singles in eight innings as the Yellow Jackets won the series against Notre Dame (11-3, 1-2) with a 4-1 victory at Russ Chandler Stadium on Sunday. Gold (2-0) hasn't allowed a run in 15 innings. The Irish broke through against the Georgia Tech bullpen in the ninth. Georgia Tech freshman Kel Johnson of Palmetto was 3-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to six games.

This week: Tuesday vs. Georgia Southern, 6 p.m.; Friday-Sunday at Duke, 6 p.m., 1 p.m., 1 p.m.

Georgia

Season record: 10-5

Sunday's game: A 16-hit attack led the Bulldogs to a 15-4 victory against visiting Longwood and a series victory at Foley Field. UGA trailed entering the seventh but sprung an eight-run inning that turned the game into a rout. Shortstop Nick King was 3-for-3 and 6-foot-6 freshman Ryan Avidano (Starr's Mill) got his second win in as many starts.

This week: Tuesday-Wednesday vs. Appalachian State, 5 p.m, 5 p.m.; Friday-Sunday vs. Missouri, 6 p.m., 2 p.m., 1 p.m.

Georgia Southern

Season record: 11-5, 3-0 Sun Belt

Sunday's game: Hunter Thomas (Chattahoochee) had his second walk-off hit in three games as the Eagles swept the series from visiting Appalachian State (5-9, 0-3). Georgia Southern is 11-1 in weekend games. The Eagles blew a 5-0 lead and then won 6-5 in the 10th after a bunt single, a sacrifice and Thomas' hit over center fielder Bradley Morton.

This week: Tuesday at Georgia Tech, 6 p.m.; Wednesday vs. North Florida, 6 p.m.; Friday-Sunday at Troy, 7 p.m., 7 p.m., 2 p.m.

Georgia State

Season record: 9-6

Sunday's game: The Panthers fell 3-1 to visiting Eastern Michigan (6-10) and were denied a sweep in the weekend series. Leadoff hitter Ryan Blanton (Parkview) had two of Georgia State's six hits and scored GSU's run. Cole Uvila (0-2) had a strong outing, going 7 1/3 innings and allowing three earned runs.

This week: Wednesday vs. Kennesaw State, 6 p.m.; Friday-Sunday at Arkansas State, 7 p.m., 5 p.m., 1 p.m.

Kennesaw State

Season record: 8-5

Sunday's game: The Owls were no-hit into the seventh, after which KSU and UAB combined for 10 runs and 12 hits, KSU losing 8-5 in the series finale at Stillwell Stadium and preventing an Owls' sweep. Sophomore Chris Erwin (Grayson) was 6-for-12 for the weekend for KSU and is hitting .390 (16-for-41) this season.
