The 14 remaining Atlanta United broadcasts on Fox Sports South and Fox Sports Southeast will feature BBC Radio Sport's play-by-play commentator Alan Green.
Green, a national soccer commentator with BBC Radio Sports since 1982, will take over play-by-lay duties from beIN Sports commentator Kevin Egan after Egan called Atlanta United’s first five regionally televised matches.
Green’s first match with Fox Sports’ team of color analyst Dan Gargan and sideline reporter Brittany Arnold will be on Saturday when Atlanta United takes on Columbus Crew SC in Atlanta.
"I've been very fortunate in my career to have done play-by-play for many of the world’s most elite tournaments including World Cups, European Championship and European Champions League finals,” Green said in a statement released by Atlanta United. “The opportunity to be a commentator for Atlanta United is extremely exciting for me and I’m looking forward to the new experience. I’ve been watching the club’s early season matches from England and can’t wait to join the broadcast team for my first match later this month.”
One of Green’s most recent broadcasts was the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus on June 3 in Cardiff, Wales.
