Injuries: Hawks—Kent Bazemore (knee), DeAndre' Bembry (abdominal), Antonius Cleveland (ankle), Malcolm Delaney (ankle), Jaylen Morris (ankle) and Dennis Schroder (ankle) are out; John Collins (ankle) is probable.
Timberwolves—Jimmy Butler (knee) is out; Derrick Rose (ankle) is questionable.
What to watch for
The Hawks (21-53) have lost three games in a row and nine of 10, and stand last in the Eastern Conference. Leading scorer Dennis Schroder (ankle) will miss his second consecutive game. Isaiah Taylor started in Schroder’s place at Houston on Sunday and scored a career-high 26 points.
A loss to the Timberwolves (42-33) would help the Hawks' draft prospects in two ways. It would increase the Hawks' chances of earning the top lottery odds, and improve Minnesota's odds of making the playoffs and thus rendering its first-round draft pick to the Hawks.
The Timberwolves are hanging on to the final playoff spot in the tight Western Conference race. Minnesota is 6-7 since All-Star Jimmy Butler was sidelined by a knee injury, including a home loss to the Grizzlies (20-54) on Monday.
