Kyle Korver wore a walking boot on his surgically repaired right ankle while modeling the Hawks new uniforms on Wednesday.

“It’s getting better,” Korver said following the presentation.

Korver underwent surgery for ligament damage on May 27, just days after he suffered the season-ending injury against the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals. The injury was not as severe as first feared.

“It definitely could have been way worse, like it could have been my knee and my leg and my ankle,” Korver said. “It ended up not being as bad as it could have been. I’m grateful for that.”

Korver has a check-up appointment on Monday. He said he expects to be ready for the start of training camp at the end of September but will likely be brought along slowly.

“I can start playing basketball full speed a little before (the start of training camp),” Korver said. “It will take a little while to get back in rhythm.”
