Pero Antic had surgery to repair a broken nose and the Hawks center missed practice Saturday. The Hawks also were without DeMarre Carroll, who suffered a twisted ankle during the session, and Kyle Korver, who was excused for personal reasons due to his pregnant wife.

Antic, sporting two black eyes while sitting out practice, took an elbow during a training camp practice Thursday.

According to coach Mike Budenholzer, Antic had the surgical procedure Friday and will be fitted for a protective mask. He will be held out of contact for several days. The surgery was performed at Northside Hospital performed by Dr. Joseph Williams.

“He is going with the beat-up boxer look,” Budenholzer said.

Antic will not play in Monday’s exhibition season opener against the Pelicans. Budenholzer also ruled out Al Horford (pectoral) and Kent Bazemore (foot).

The severity of Carroll’s ankle sprain was not immediately known.

“We’ll know more later today or tomorrow,” Budenholzer said.

Korver and his wife are expecting the couple’s second child. Her due date was last Sunday.

“There is no news now,” Budenholzer said. “Hopefully there is news soon.”
