NEXT: VS WASHINGTON NATIONALS
Monday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers:
Braves LH Eric Stults (0-1, 4.50) vs. RH Doug Fister (1-0, 2.37)
Comment: Stults is coming off his best start in his first three games as a Brave. He allowed just one run in six innings against the Mets but took a no-decision in a 3-2 loss on Wednesday. It's something to build on, though, for the struggling back end of the Braves rotation. Fister is a perfect 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA in three career starts against the Braves and is unscored upon over 15 innings in two starts against the Braves since the Nationals acquired him from Detroit.
Tuesday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Julio Teheran (2-1, 4.64) vs. RH Max Scherzer (1-2, 1.26)
Comment: Teheran's ERA ballooned from 1.50 to 4.64 over the past two starts after he allowed four home runs against the Blue Jays and then walked five against the Mets. The Braves are scheduled to face Scherzer for the first time since he signed a seven-year $210 million free agent contract with the Nationals in January. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to make the start, though, because he is nursing a sore thumb which he jammed hitting a grounder Thursday. He had to push back his normally-scheduled Saturday bullpen. If he can't go, the Nationals will likely call an arm up from Triple-A.
Wednesday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves LH Alex Wood (1-0, 3.00) vs. RH Jordan Zimmermann (1-2, 5.23)
Comment: The Braves are looking to snap a three-game losing streak behind Wood, who took a no-decision in a 1-0 loss to the Phillies his last time out despite pitching five shutout innings. Zimmermann is 4-2 with a 2.93 ER in 10 starts against the Braves overall and those numbers are even better at Turner Field, where he is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in two starts, allowing three earned runs in 14 1/3 innings.
