Former Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell, whose contract was not renewed this offseason, will become the Baltimore Orioles' pitching coach.

McDowell becomes the second Braves pitching coach to sign with Baltimore after leaving Atlanta.

McDowell was hired by the Braves in 2006 after longtime pitching coach Leo Mazzone left for the same position with the Orioles.

McDowell coached in Atlanta for 11 seasons under Bobby Cox and Fredi Gonzalez, who was fired this year on May 17.

McDowell replaces Dave Wallace, who retired from coaching and is now in an advisory role with the Braves.
