A recap of the Braves’ loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday at Busch Stadium.

How the game was won: Braves right-hander Shelby Miller took another tough-luck loss as the Cardinals won 1-0 on Stepehen Piscotty’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth against reliever Luis Avilan. Miller retired 12 batters in a row from the fourth through seventh innings before Yadier Molina singled to lead off the eighth to start the winning sequence. Miller allowed two hits and the run over 7 1/3 innings. Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez limited the Braves to six hits over eight innings.

Number: 15. Pick-offs by Braves pitchers, the most in the majors.

Next: The Braves play the Cardinals at 2:15 p.m. Sunday on Fox Sports South. RHP Matt Wisler (4-1, 3.60 ERA) faces RHP Michael Wacha (10-3, 2.93 ERA).
