How the winning run scored: Paul Janish's two-out single to center field in the fourth inning drove home Freddie Freeman and Joey Terdoslavich to give Gwinnett a 2-0 lead over host Charlotte on Saturday night.

At the plate: The G-Braves outhit the Knights 14-2, and Freeman, the Atlanta Braves' first baseman playing in the second game of a three-game rehab stint, led the way. Freeman was 5-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jose Constanza was 3-for-5 and scored a run. Terdoslavich was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Pastornicky was 2-for-5 and scored two runs.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Daniel Rodriguez (1-0) pitched six innings, allowing no runs and striking out 10. He gave up two hits and walked two.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (8-9) and the Knights (5-12) play at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, the first of two games between the teams at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Left-hander Sean Gilmartin (1-0, 1.69 ERA) is the scheduled starter for Gwinnett.
