Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia left Thursday’s game during the seventh inning after he suffered what the team said was an ankle injury.

Garcia left the game after he advanced from first to second base on Jace Peterson’s single. Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said he wasn’t sure when Garcia hurt the ankle, though be believes he aggravated it while covering the bag on a steal attempt earlier in the game.

The Braves said Garcia experienced mild ankle soreness and is day-to-day.

“He will be all right,” Snitker said. “It’s just going to get taped up and some treatment. I think it will be fine.”

Garcia has started a total of 43 games over two stints with the Braves this season. He’s been the regular third baseman since the Braves recalled him from Triple-A Gwinnett on May 27.
