The Braves claimed right-hander Chaz Roe off waivers from the Orioles on Sunday and moved right-hander Williams Perez to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster. Roe is set to join the Braves in Milwaukee on Monday.

Roe, 29, has made 69 relief appearances over four big-league seasons while posting a 4.18 ERA with 77 strikeouts and 40 walks over 75 1/3 innings. Roe had a 3.72 ERA in nine appearances this season for the Orioles, who designated him for assignment on July 21.

The Braves will have to make another move to make room for Roe on the 25-man roster. The announcement will be made after Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

The Braves placed Perez on the 15-day DL June 8 with a strain to the rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder. He’s one of 14 pitchers to make starts for the Braves this season.
