Former Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons made his debut with his new team, the Anaheim Angels, late Monday night.
The Cubs beat the Angels 9-0 in Anaheim.
Simmons went 0-for-3 at the plate but made a slick fielding play at shortstop to limit the Cubs to one run in the seventh inning.
Another former Braves player, Yunel Escobar, went 0-for-4 and made an error in his debut at third base for the Angels.
Jason Heyward played in his first game for the Cubs after signing as a free agent in the offseason and finished 1-for-5 at the plate.
The teams played again late Tuesday night.
