Atlanta United vs. Club America won’t resume for at least 30 days

Citing the need to exercise caution related to COVID-19, Atlanta United’s series with Club America in the Champions League won’t resume for at least 30 days, according to CONCACAF.

The governing body for soccer in North America, Central America and the Caribbean announced Friday the suspension of all of its competitions scheduled to take place in the next 30 days. CONCACAF announced Thursday that the tournament was immediately suspended. Friday’s announcement provided a time frame.

Atlanta United was scheduled to host Club America on Wednesday at Kennesaw State in the second leg of the tournament’s quarterfinal series. Club America won the first leg 3-0 on Wednesday in Mexico City.

Also suspended are:

• 2020 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifiers.

• First Round of the CONCACAF 2021 Gold Cup Qualifiers (due to be played in the March 2020 FIFA Window).

• 2020 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield.
