LONDON — The Falcons, thin in the secondary and at wide receiver, will have several players making their debuts this season against the Jets on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Cornerback Kendall Sheffield was activated from injured reserve and added to the roster. Tight end Parker Hesse was released to make room.

Rookie Richie Grant (safety) and Darren Hall (cornerback) also will play on defense. Second-year safety Jaylinn Hawkins will start for Erik Harris at safety. Cornerback Chris Williamson was also promoted from the practice squad.

Wide receiver Tajae Sharpe is expected to start for Calvin Ridley. In addition to Olamide Zaccheaus, the Falcons will use Christian Blake, rookie Frank Darby and Juwan Green.

Ridley, Russell Gage, Erik Harris, Feleipe Franks, Avery Williams, John Cominsky and Marlon Davidson were declared in active for the Falcons.

The Jets inactives are: wide receiver Jeff Smith, safety Marcus Maye, running back La’Mical Perine, cornerback Isaiah Dunn, safety Adrian Colbert, tight end Tyler Kroft and defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall.
