A 24-year-old Cobb County woman died Monday afternoon after apparently losing control of her car on a wet I-75, heading into the path of a truck pulling a trailer, according to police.

Fatma E. Shalaby, of Acworth, was driving a Nissan Sentra southbound at the Terrell Mill Road overpass when her car spun into the path of a white Dodge pickup truck, according to Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb County police. The truck struck the Sentra, causing the truck and its trailer to jackknife and strike a guardrail, Pierce said.

The Sentra stopped only when it hit the inner median wall, Pierce said. Shalaby died at the scene, according to police.

Neither the driver of the truck, identified as Danny Cox, 37, nor the passenger, Marion Cox, 33, both of Screven, were injured in the crash, Pierce said.

No charges are expected to be filed in the case. But anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 770-499-3987.
