A 92-year-old woman died after firefighters pulled her from a burning bedroom in a DeKalb County home Friday night.

Firefighters were called shortly after 6 p.m. to the home in the 4100 block of Northstrand Drive, off Snapfinger Road, according to Capt. Eric Jackson with the DeKalb fire department.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one room of the home. Jackson said what started the fire is still being investigated, but it appears to be accidental. The woman was alone at the time, he said.

Her name has not been released.
