About 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, the woman was found with “no signs of life” at the bottom of a stairwell at the once popular mall, Atlanta police spokesman Donald T. Hannah said.

She had bruises on her body. However, “there’s nothing indicative that she was sexually assaulted,” Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2 Action News.
The woman had a purse, but there was no identification in it. She may have been in her late 20s or early 30s, according to Channel 2.
"It appears she may be someone who frequents the area,” Hampton told the television station.
Police are trying to determine if any surveillance cameras in the area are working, Channel 2 reported.
They do not have any witnesses or a motive in the the woman’s death at this time.
