Cold, wintry weather conditions have led Zoo Atlanta to close on Sunday, zoo officials announced Saturday evening.

The zoo has not decided on a schedule for Monday and asks potential visitors to check the operating schedule on its website,  zooatlanta.org for updates.

The weather forecast Sunday for metro Atlanta was for a high temperature of 36 degrees with clear skies, according to Channel 2 Action News. Saturday night’s low temperature was expected to be a below-freezing 20 degrees.
