A Florida woman is being sought by police after officers said she got into an argument with her boyfriend Sunday and poured boiling soup on him while he was in bed.

Misty Childs, 41, was arguing with Lavont Moss, 46, on Sunday night at the St. Petersburg-area halfway house where they live, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Childs left the room, retrieved a boiling pot of soup and poured it on Moss' face and chest while he was lying in bed.

Moss was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition, police said. "He was unable to speak due to the scalding liquid being poured onto him," police spokesman Rick Shaw told the Times.

Police said they don't know what the argument stemmed from. Childs, who is still at large, faces a charge of attempted murder.
