When Byron Schlenker, 47, and his teenage daughter stick their tongues out, they are not only making a funny face but one that has earned the pair respective Guinness World Record titles.

Schlenker's 3.37-inch wide tongue trounced the old record for world's widest tongue for a male, which was 3.1 inches. Schlenker's daughter, Emily, 14, scored the title for world's widest tongue for a female at 2.89 inches.

To give some perspective, the father’s tongue is wider than the iPhone 6, according to Barcroft TV. Schlenker says his large tongue does not interfere with his speech.

While he enjoys being a local celebrity, according to an interview in The Telegraph, one fan took it a bit too far when she asked Schlenker to lick her Guinness book. Schlenker politely declined.
