What sounds like a joke really happened in Queens, New York, today.
A cow destined for the slaughterhouse broke free and spent some time roaming the streets in New York.
The cow was not out long, but passersby were able to snap pictures and record video of the unusual site.
It took about 10 minutes for officers to get the cow, who traveled 30 yards from the slaughterhouse and into a parking garage, according to WPIX.
The New York Police Department 103 precinct confirmed the incident in a tweet: "Yes, you heard right. Cow on the loose (in) Jamaica, Queens. All officers safe. No injuries.Thank you all for your patience."
WLNY reported that although cows who make escapes like this are usually pardoned, that was not the case for this cow.
