A video of a student using multiple racial slurs has been widely shared among a Henry County private school community, leading the school to discipline the student.

The videos show a female student at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy using two different racial slurs, Channel 2 Action News reported. The news station, which obtained the video, heavily blurred the footage to protect the identity of the student, and her language had to be censored for the broadcast.

No information was released about how the videos became widely shared, or if they were filmed on campus.

Representatives for the McDonough school assured their community that the student was disciplined. ELCA head of school Dr. Tim Hahn first addressed the video in a long informational email to parents that was shared with the media.

“ELCA does not tolerate this behavior and the student has been disciplined by administration. I am grateful we are in a Christian community that can not only hold one another accountable but provide grace and mercy,” Hahn wrote.

Following the initial report on Channel 2, ELCA sent another statement to the media.

“The mission and values of our school are steadfast,” the statement said. “We love all people and we do not condone hurtful messages and behaviors in any shape or form, including the video of the student using racial slurs. We can assure this has been addressed by our administration.”
