A teenage driver allegedly caused a deadly wreck in South Fulton on Monday after she borrowed her mother’s car without permission, police on the scene told Channel 2 Action News.

One person was killed in the two-vehicle wreck, according to South Fulton police spokesman Lt. Derrick Rogers.

Police have not released the name of the victim, but the man’s family identified him as Chuan McKeever, according to Channel 2.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. at the intersection of Flat Shoals Road and Guilford Lane west of Old National Highway. Footage from NewsChopper 2 showed that a white minivan and a yellow pickup truck hauling a trailer were involved.

Police told Channel 2 the teen driver was on Flat Shoals Road when she became distracted and crashed into the other vehicle. The other driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Rogers said.
