TRAFFIC ALERT: Cobb frontage road reopens after water main repairs completed

A Cobb County frontage road was reopened Friday after repairs to a broken water main were completed.
The break on Interstate North Parkway sent water gushing into the air near I-75 on Wednesday morning and flooded the road. The road was open in both directions between Cumberland Boulevard and Powers Ferry Road as of 1 p.m. Friday, according to Cobb County officials.
While traffic is flowing again, the county does not expect to complete repairs to the sidewalks for the next few weeks.
Before the source was shut off, the gushing water could be seen from the interstate during the Wednesday morning rush, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.

The spill was so strong that it blew out a window and flooded the first-floor lobby of a nearby office building. The lobby at Platinum Tower is located above the ground-floor delivery entrance.
Water outages were contained to the building, Cobb officials said. No other customers were impacted.
