Repairs to a heavily-traveled I-285 off-ramp in Cobb County may be finished Monday, Channel 2 Action News reported, citing transportation officials.

A sinkhole that appeared Friday made the repairs necessary to the eastbound ramp to Cobb Parkway, which is near SunTrust Park, Cumberland Mall and the Cobb Galleria, a Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman said.

Crews have been working around the clock to reopen the three right-turning lanes, and a second team of workers is expected on the scene Sunday, according to Channel 2.

Asphalt workers plan to begin paving in the afternoon, the news station reported. Until then, crews will be grading the area.

It’s not clear what time Monday the work might be finished. So morning commuters should have alternate routes ready.

The situation is also expected to affect traffic for Sunday’s Padres-Braves game, which starts at 1:35 p.m.

“Motorists should expect heavy traffic delays in this area,” GDOT spokeswoman Natalie Dale said.
