Braves rookie Ryan Weber gave up only one walk and recorded six groundouts, five of those to first base. However, the Philadelphia Phillies came back and scored a run on two hits in each of the fourth and fifth innings, leading to a 5-0 Philadelphia win against the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night. 2. Georgia couple, 1-year-old daughter killed on way to Disney World

Thomas Garza, Lillian Luna and their daughter Brianna died after their car was rear-ended in Florida around 4 a.m. on their way to the theme park for Labor Day weekend. Garza and Luna died at the scene and their 1-year-old daughter died at a hospital. The driver that rear-ended them was also reportedly taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Read more.

3. Georgia governor urges cautious approach to refugee crisis

Despite pleas from humanitarian officials urging the country to take in more Syrian refugees, Gov. Nathan Deal and his administration do not want to see the increase in number of refugees settling in Georgia. In an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday, Deal asserted that Georgia takes in more than its fair share of refugees. Read more.

4. More corruption fighters to be hired in DeKalb

District Attorney Robert James has said adequate resources to fully investigate the allegations of corruption plaguing DeKalb County have been lacking. On Tuesday, the DeKalb Commission unanimously approved funding for five more employees for James' corruption-busting efforts. Read more.

5. Georgia gas prices might not have increased, but the tax sure did

The national average of regular gasoline was around $2.40 a gallon over the Labor Day weekend and dipped by a penny by Tuesday. Atlanta fared even better with an average $2.34 a gallon. However, if not for the tax change, motorists may be paying even less at the pump now. Read more.
