1. Georgia clears way for mentally ill to buy guns

Georgia officials uploaded more than 2,000 new records of mentally ill residents to a natoinal database that gun dealers use to run background checks for potential buyers. Georgia also took down almost 500 other records, making it possible for some mentally ill people to acquire guns legally anywhere in the country. Read more.

2. UGA's Thomas Brown to join Richt in Miami

According to multiple people familiar with the situation, the newest to join Mark Richt's staff at Miami is Georgia's running backs coach this year, Thomas Brown. Read more.

3. Jones, Freeman selected to the Pro Bowl

Falcons running back Devonta Freeman and wide receiver Julio Jones were both selected to the Pro Bowl team on Tuesday. Read more.

5. Alpharetta executive admits guilt in trading scheme

An Alpharetta real estate developer has pleaded guilty in an insider trading scheme involving hacked corporate press releases — the first criminal case of its kind. By trading on the insider information, defendants made over $100 million. The executive's share: $125,000 over three months. Read more.
