State school board member Kevin Boyd will have a seat at a national table after winning election to the board of an education leadership organization.

The member of the Georgia Board of Education will represent the southern region on the National Association of State Boards of Education, the organization announced Wednesday.

The Gainesville resident runs a family business, has two children in public schools and is married to a school administrator. He represents the ninth Congressional district on the governor-appointed school board.
