Atlanta police officers were investigating three shootings and a home invasion within two hours Thursday night. But none of the incidents appeared to be related, according to police.

Around 5:50 p.m., police were called to Therrell High School in southwest Atlanta to investigate a person shot, according to Officer John Chafee. There, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, but investigators do not believe the man was shot at the school, Chafee said. The man was not a high school student.

The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

About an hour later, officers were called to the 1400 block of Moreland Avenue in southeast Atlanta on a report of another person shot, Chafee said. The man, who appeared to be in his late 40s, had been shot multiple times and was transported to Atlanta Medical Center in extremely critical condition, according to police.

“At this time, the motive is not clear and investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting,” Chafee said in an emailed statement.

Around 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Cedar Avenue in northwest Atlanta following a suspected home invasion, according to police. At the home, officers found three victims, ranging in age from teens to mid-30s, Chafee said. Two of the males had been shot and third had been assaulted.

All three victims were transported to Grady in stable condition, Chafee said.

By late Thursday, no arrests had been made in the shootings, according to police. Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
