A woman who police linked to a suspected crime ring using a "selfie" photograph on her Facebook page got a new picture Thursday — a mugshot.

Tanya Monique Peel, 26, was arrested Thursday and charged with felony theft by taking, according to Fulton County jail records.

Police said Peel used her own name to set up a phony business account at a JP Morgan Chase bank branch in Atlanta. She used that account to bilk more than $100,000 from a man in an identify theft operation, police said.

“Selfies” on her Facebook page matched her with the woman surveillance cameras caught withdrawing the stolen $123,000.

During a first appearance Friday, Peel was granted $50,000 bond, Fulton sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said. However, Peel remains in custody. She has not posted bail.

Her next court date is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 8, Flanagan said.
