Mitchell was charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine.

In 2016, Mitchell was the subject of a large narcotics investigation involving law enforcement agencies from Chatham County to Portland, Oregon.

Police said Mitchell conspired with others to have large amounts of crystal meth shipped to him from across the U.S. for distribution. Police also said Mitchell directed others to transport crystal meth to other states, including Virginia.
