Saturday morning started off warm in metro Atlanta, and it’s only expected to get hotter as the day goes on.

North Georgia residents can expect plenty of sunshine this weekend, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

“We are seeing lots of sunshine this morning,” she said. “It’s already starting to warm up in Atlanta.”

It’s expected to reach 91 degrees by 2 p.m., and with just a 10% chance of afternoon showers, it should be a great day to get outside.

“Find ways to keep cool, especially if you’re planning on spending any time outdoors today,” Deon said. “It’s one of those days where you just want to take it easy.”

In Cobb County, an overturned tanker truck is blocking Roswell Road in both directions at North Marietta Parkway, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.

The crash is causing some delays in the area, and drivers are urged to take North Marietta Parkway or South Marietta Parkway to avoid the congestion.
