Police still seek driver who hit Atlanta cyclist

A week later, police are still searching for the driver and SUV that hit an Atlanta cyclist in an aggravated assault June 9.

Greg Germani was hit by a red Dodge Nitro after a confrontation with the driver of the SUV on Flagler Avenue in Morningside. Germani, 50, remains at Grady Hospital, according to information shared among his friends in daily postings on social media.

A Crime Stoppers reward fund for information on the case has generated almost $15,000 from 123 supporters as of Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).

Police had not been able to speak with Germani about the incident as of Tuesday afternoon, said Atlanta police Maj. Van Hobbs. He added that two investigators are working the case.
