Atlanta police are looking for a man who may be connected to two Saturday morning bank robberies.
About 10 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to an alarm call at the Wells Fargo branch at 2204 Peachtree Rd., Officer John Chafee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“At this time,” he said, “it appears that a male entered the bank, produced a note and robbed it.”
On Twitter, multiple users said they weren’t allowed near the bank and police had guns drawn.
Chafee described the Wells Fargo suspect as a 6-foot, 160-pound man in his early 20s who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with “Truck Fit” in white letters, a black Polo shirt, and black cargo pants with a white cloth belt. He had scratches on his right arm and he was in a small, champagne-colored vehicle with an unknown tag.
Just before 11 a.m., a man matching that description robbed the Fidelity Bank at 494 Ponce de Leon Ave., Chafee said.
“It may be the same perpetrator,” he said.
Both incidents remain under investigation, Chafee said.
