A Tennessee man is accused of selling fake parking passes in downtown Nashville and passing off drywall as cocaine, WZTV reported.
Melvin Jarrett Jr., 41, was charged Monday night on charges of resisting and evading arrest, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and counterfeit controlled substance, WKRN reported.
Jarrett had been arrested in 2015 on a similar fake parking pass charge, according to the television station.
Nashville police said they witnessed Jarrett accept money from a woman in a vehicle and hand her what turned out to be a fake pass to a parking area, WZTV reported.
When police tried to confront Jarrett, he ran into a parking lot, the television station reported. Police told him to stop or they would use a Taser. When Jarrett kept running, police used the Taser, WZTV reported.
During a search, police said they found more fake parking passes, a glass crack pipe and a chunk of drywall that Jarrett admitted he was selling as cocaine, WKRN reported.
