A 58-year-old man was shot in the head Wednesday night in southwest Atlanta, police said.

The shooting occurred at the intersection of Welch and Rockwell streets.

APD officials just after 9 p.m. reported that the man was being treated by Grady EMS personnel and was unconscious but breathing.
