Christopher Michael Blackmer, 47, who teaches at Winter Park High School, was arrested on charges of sexual performance by a child -- possession of child pornography -- Winter Park police Lt. John Montgomery said.

Police received a report Jan. 28 that Blackmer had inappropriate photographs of a teenager, Montgomery said.

Police said they later discovered several photographs and videos on Blackmer's phone of him engaging in a sexual act with the boy.

Investigators said they believe the videos were recorded several years ago and involved a Colonial High School student who was either 16 or 17 at the time.

Police said Blackmer had also sent nude photographs of another former student to people on Instagram.

Blackmer was booked into the Orange County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bail.

Police said Orange County Public Schools placed Blackmer on administrative leave. He has been employed with the school since August 2013.

The incident remains under investigation.
