The United Peachtree Corners Civic Association will host a Food and Wine Pairing event to raise money for Cindy Martinez who is fighting a rare and serious flesh-eating infection known as necrotizing fasciitis. The event to be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Atlanta Bread Company at the Forum shopping center, will accept donations for the family and include a silent auction.

Cindy is the wife of David Martinez, a Gwinnett County police officer, who works on police-related community activities within Peachtree Corners and the surrounding area. Cindy and David have two small children, requiring Martinez to take a leave of absence from the police department to care for his children while Cindy fights off the infection and recovers from recent amputations of her feet and one hand.

Food and wine event is $20 per person. Cash and checks accepted. Tickets: www.upcca.org, 404-825-8788 or Atlanta Bread Company at 770-662-0900, by Sunday July 26.
