The overnight rain and drizzle has ended and skies are beginning to clear across metro Atlanta, but a wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

The wind advisory, issued at 9 a.m. Saturday for all of north and central Georgia, warns that winds gusting to 35 mph “could knock down some trees and branches,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “We’re going to be stay windy all day long with sustained winds between 15 and 25 with those higher gusts.”

Low temperatures early Saturday ranged from 36 in Alpharetta and Dunwoody and 37 in Chamblee and Marietta to 38 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and 40 in Peachtree City.

A few light flurries were reported early Saturday across far north Georgia, where the mercury dipped to around the freezing mark, but Nitz said those flurries had ended by 10 a.m. The flurries left a dusting of snow in some areas, but no travel problems were reported.

His forecast for the rest of the weekend calls for clearing skies Saturday, with highs in the upper 40s.

Sunday will be partly cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of rain late in the day. Morning lows in the mid-30s will be followed by afternoon highs in the mid-50s, Nitz said.

There’s a 20 percent chance of morning showers Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday should be sunny, Nitz said. Highs will be a degree or two on either side of 50, with lows in the 30s.
