President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met and shook hands Friday at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to CNN. They are expected to have a face-to-face meeting later Friday and Trump addressed that on social media early Friday.
“I look forward to all meetings today with world leaders, including my meeting with Vladimir Putin. Much to discuss,” Trump tweeted.
Trump addressed other topics on Twitter, including his visit to Poland. He also took several jabs at the media and at John Podesta, the former chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump promised to represent the country well and “fight for its interests” before taking aim at the media.
“Fake News Media will never cover me accurately but who cares! We will #MAGA!” he tweeted.
Trump said “everyone” in Hamburg was talking about why Podesta “refused to give the DNC server” to the FBI and CIA. “Disgraceful!” the president tweeted.
Trump termed his trip to Poland “a great one” and thanked everyone, “including the haters,” for the “great reviews” of his speech in Warsaw.
