Cobb County experienced a relatively rare “take over” bank robbery in Smyrna on Tuesday.

Cobb police described three pistol-packing gunmen, dressed in black and wearing masks, taking over the Regions Bank at 1650 Cumberland Parkway at just after 10:30 a.m. and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. Most metro bank robberies involve a sole criminal demanding money from a teller after delivering at threat.

Police released photos of the robbers in the hope that a law-abiding citizen will recognize them and call authorities with a tip. Police believe the three men have been involved in a series of robberies in metro Atlanta since July 1.

Anyone with information about this incident that may assist investigators is asked to call 770-499-3945.
