Police are investigating a kidnapping, sexual assault and armed robbery in a Marietta taxi cab last week.

About 4:30 p.m. Nov. 5, a man driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with an unknown taxi company logo offered the woman a ride on Lake Drive near Claymore Drive, police said.

The woman got in the car, and the driver assaulted her at gunpoint in the backseat of the vehicle, Marietta police spokesman Officer David Baldwin said.

The driver let the woman leave the vehicle after the attack, then drove toward South Marietta Parkway, Baldwin said.

He is described as a 6-foot-2 man with a scar over his right eye, a tattoo of a teardrop below his left eye and a large tattoo of a bird or eagle with red eyes on one of his forearms.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to contact Marietta police Detective Shannon Arrowood at 770-794-5371 or the police department’s anonymous tip line at 770-794-6990.
