Welcome to Crime in ATL, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s new interactive that helps readers track recent crimes and crime trends within Atlanta’s city limits.

Using data from the Atlanta Police Department, this interactive allows you to zoom in on any of the city’s seven police zones (including Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport) or 78 beats. Even if you don’t know your police zone or beat, you can use the zoom tool to find your street and click. That will take you to your zone map, where you’ll see reported crimes over the past month. From there you can click on a specific beat, which features reported crimes from the past two months.

At any level – city, zone and beat – you can see graphics that show crime trends for that area since 2009.
