While he was being cited for indecent exposure — he was in “an indecent state” at a public swimming pool, police said — a Fayette County man allegedly invited a police officer to check out his YouTube channel.
The officer did. And what he watched led to additional charges.
Turns out Zachary Peak showed off his marijuana-growing operation on the online site, according to Peachtree City police.
“The officer viewed an obvious marijuana growing operation on the YouTube channel and clearly identified the residence, the suspect, and his mother,” Lt. Mark Brown said in an emailed statement.
The officer secured a search warrant for the Paddock Trail home, and during the search, investigators found 33 marijuana plants, Brown said. Officers seized the plants, along with equipment allegedly used to cultivate the marijuana, he said.
Peak, 29, was arrested Saturday and charged with manufacturing, distribution, and possession of marijuana and transported to the Fayette County jail, where he was being held Monday afternoon on $69,700 bond, booking records show. His mug shot was not available Monday.
It was not known whether Peak’s mother, whose name was not released, will face criminal charges, Brown said.
The arrest on drug charges came one day after officers were called to the Glenloch Recreation Center in reference to a man exposing himself, police said. Peak was cited, but details about the incident were not released.
