Man struck, killed by train in Cobb County

A Cobb County man was struck and killed by a train early Friday near Cumberland Boulevard, police said.

Officers were called around 12:20 a.m. to the railroad bridge over I-285, according to Officer Mike Bowman with Cobb County police. When they arrived, the found a man’s body on the tracks, Bowman said.

The victim was later identified as Daniel James Rasmussen, 29, of Smyrna. An autopsy will be conducted by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office.
