A man believed to be in his 20s was shot and killed Monday afternoon outside a Midtown apartment building, Atlanta police said.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred outside in the breezeway of the Ford Factory Lofts, located in the 600 block of Ponce de Leon Avenue, according to Officer John Chafee. Officers were called to the scene around 5 p.m.

The victim, who had not been identified Monday night, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died, Chafee said.
