A Tucker man is facing murder charges after a fatal shooting Thursday night at a DeKalb County park, police said.

DeKalb police Capt. Stephen Fore said three men were at Henderson Park on Henderson Road shortly before midnight.

“One of the males had a handgun,” Fore said in an email. “The weapon was discharged, striking the victim in the chest.”

Fore said the other two men attempted to drive the victim to Grady Memorial Hospital, calling 911 en route.

“They pulled over on I-285 near Ponce de Leon for EMS, who continued to transport to Grady, where the victim died from his wound,” Fore said.

He said 20-year-old Jason Robinson was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held in the DeKalb County Jail.

The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
