A man in upstate New York is facing charges after allegedly depositing marijuana with cash in a night deposit bag at a bank, WHAM reported.

State police were called to the Lyons National Bank in Ontario, New York, after tellers found the items in the night deposit bag from a local gas station, WHAM reported..

Timothy Ventura, 27, of Webster, was the night manager. Police said Ventura allegedly said when he went to put money in the bag, he also accidentally dropped the marijuana into it, too.

Once he had closed and locked the money bag, Ventura could not open it, WHAM reported. Ventura allegedly told police that he had no choice but to make the deposit and wait, WHAM reported. He later admitted that the pot was his, state police officials said.

Ventura is facing charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and is due in Ontario Town Court next month, WHAM reported.
